"Instruct the child according to the way he is to follow; And when he's old, he will not turn away from it." Proverbs 22: 6
Dear parents, let us look at the laws, policies, strategies and educational programs of our countries; everything is played there. The future of nations is carved into this rock mass of educational systems. Here we are at the edge of a new school year. What are our beloved children going to get on the benches? Tomorrow they will be a reflection of the training system that has moulded them.
School, it is true, cannot be liable, alone, for their future. However, it plays a very important role. It is in this sanctuary, where they spend most of their time, where they receive instructions on life and for life. Centuries back, Victor Hugo, a French poet, compared the school to a sanctuary.
Sanctuary, is school still one today? Signals have been made very recently through media, that school is being invested by certain forms of education whose content work against the cardinal values of our societies. It would have been to impose unto our young plants, the choice of how to use their bodies, most especially their intimate organs, a choice that some of them would not have wanted to adopt all their life. Some unworthy parents, through media, shouted at them. Should the fact be established, would it not be too late that reactions are being heard only at this stage of implementation?
How many are we today, to show any interest in school curriculum? What system have we abandoned the life and future of our children to? At their malleable age, they are the target of many systems that project through them, the future of the World, but surely of our nations. This is a reality that underlies the following divine thought: "Instruct the child according to the path he must follow ...". If the school is called to instruct the child, it is our duty to monitor all that it is supposed to teach them, especially in terms of moral value.
Therefore, we, parents, as one of the three angles of the pedagogical triangle (TEACHER (parents, instructors), KNOWLEDGE, LEARNERS (children), we must get involved into the system and fully play our part in it.
God created the universe and put man in the center to reflect his image. Let it not happen any other way. Let's look at what can affect the future of our children, especially the mass education systems.
